A couple with a mission

  • Don and Kiki have spent seven months traversing Costa Rica’s Guanacaste province, shooting video of howlers in the wild, interviewing animal rescue groups and veterinarians about the problem, and even documenting horrific deaths by electrocution.  

Animal electrocutions have been a problem in Costa Rica for more than 20 years.  The country has an excellent track record of producing sustainable energy (wind, solar, hydro, etc.) and they have brought electricity to more than 99 percent of the country’s population.  But in many cases, the new roads and power lines the lead to new construction projects in the country cut off howlers from their tree top migration routes
